The Hungarian government and UNICEF announced this week an agreement to establish a Global Shared Services Center in Budapest. The center will oversee many of UNICEF’s worldwide financial and human resources services. Key reasons for selecting Budapest include the relatively low cost of doing business there, a highly qualified workforce and robust infrastructure. “Every dollar UNICEF can save is another dollar we can use to improve children’s lives,” said UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake. Current plans call for the center to employ 350 people, 85% of whom will be Hungarian.
