MEPs clashed on Thursday as votes on reform plans to improve transparency in the European Parliament went through the committee stage. In a surprise vote in the constitutional affairs committee (AFCO) stronger versions were passed for the final plenary vote on the dossier in January 2019. Rules would require rapporteurs of different reports and tasks to publish all scheduled meetings with lobbyists online. The website of the European Parliament will also be able to detail the monthly expense accounts of individual MEPs, if they so choose to do so.
