French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday urged leaders of the world to reject nationalism, describing it as a "betrayal of patriotism". Speaking at a ceremony in Paris to mark the centenary of the end of World War One, Macron's words were pointed squarely at two other leaders in attendance: US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. More than 9.7 million soldiers and 10 million civilians died during the war. Sunday afternoon, Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel took part at the Paris Peace Forum conference together with Putin and Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
