Older job seekers and job seekers with a foreign background are invited twice less often for job interviews than native Dutch under the age of 35, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment wrote on September 1, following a survey ordered by a government minister. The outcome confirms research by the Netherlands Institute for Social Research from earlier this year. The cabinet wishes to make agreements with employers to help young, mostly foreign people with jobs, traineeships and workplaces. A total of 100 million euros has been allocated to help older unemployed people find jobs.
