Asylum seekers who have been around in the Netherlands for a while and have a fair chance of a temporary residence permit may receive language education. With this, State Secretary Klaas Dijkhoff complies with Parliament's wishes. Currently, adult asylum seekers staying in a refugee center still don't receive Dutch lessons by recognized teachers. Dijkhoff still believes it may raise wrong expectations if the government offers education that may support integration. "I find it of utter importance that the government is unambiguous in its message without sending contradicting signals."
