Faced with the horror and terror, we feel a mix of emotions.
Anger.
We feel anger at those who stole the lives of 31 people and injured many others at Brussels airport and the Maelbeek metro station.
Sadness.
We feel sadness and we would like to send our deepest sympathy to the victims families.
Fear.
We feel fear of these events, which might strengthen people’s distrust, fuel rancor and intolerance, and make it harder and harder to live together in our society.
Solidarity.
We also feel solidarity, and thus find consolation, when we read all the supporting messages that we have been receiving from official institutions and people on social networks (especially from France) since the attacks this morning.
For the League of Human Rights, in shock of seeing the capital hit by the cowardly violence of terrorists, it is now time to mourn our loss.
