Accidently, a Rotterdam civil servant published on the Internet the private information of 15,000 present inhabitants and 10,000 former inhabitants, including names, addresses and citizen service numbers (BSN) from tax files. The Rotterdam municipality says a member of its staff made a mistake. Immediately after discovery, the information was removed from the Internet. The civil servant in question had retained all information on his laptop. When connecting to the Internet, all data were available to anyone. It is not clear if actions have been taken against this civil servant.
