The secret services watchdog CTIVD is concerned about the impact that new legislation giving the security services much wider powers will have on privacy when foreign agencies are involved. A report by the watchdog outlining its position on the new legislation was presented to members of the Dutch Parliament on Wednesday. The report says more has to be done to guarantee privacy when information is shared with foreign security services. Although there are advantages to working together, such alliances raise questions about protecting constitutional rights, the report states.
