The EU will hold a summit dedicated to the migrant crisis. Donald Tusk, president of the European Council, invited heads of EU states for a meeting on Wednesday, September 23. According to the draft agenda, they aim to agree on financial support for frontline EU states as well as neighboring countries of Syria. They also hope for "diplomatic efforts to solve the crisis in Syria." Reflecting on the fence building in Hungary, Tusk writes, "We as Europeans are currently not able to manage our common external borders, hence some states decided to protect themselves by closing their national ones."
