From November 15, 2017, the Kingdom of Denmark will chair the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for six months. One of its main priorities is the dynamic interpretation of the European Convention. Some fear that this will open 'Pandora's box' for Member States who would like to exercise their national sovereignty without scrutiny by the European Court of Human Rights. Moreover, it is feared that Denmark's upcoming chairmanship will weaken migration rights within the Council of Europe.
