The chair of the Hellenic League for Human Rights has sent a letter to Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Maria Damanaki regarding the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons in the Mediterranean Sea. Part of the Syrian chemical weapons stockpile is to be destroyed on a United States Navy vessel in the Mediterranean Sea, which could endanger the wildlife and natural features of the surrounding area.
