Several hundred people marched in the center of Priština on the occasion of the first Pride Parade in the history of Kosovo. The Pride was held under heavy police protection and was prepared in great secrecy because the organizers wanted to avoid potential incidents. There were rainbow flags and banners on the streets of Priština and LGBT organizations called on the people of Kosovo to eradicate homophobia and to respect – together with national institutions – the rights of the LGBT community. Sexual orientation, they said, should not be the cause of discrimination.
