"Respect for human rights is directly tied to the citizens' trust in the state — however, this fundamental virtue often missing from people's lives," claimed the president of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, in a meeting with representatives of the Human Rights Monitoring Institute. At the meeting, the president was introduced to the 8th overview of human rights in Lithuania, titled "Human Rights Overview: 2013-2014." The president said that the human rights enshrined in the Constitution must be protected in all areas of life and improvements to the legal system must be consistently implemented.
