Lithuanians are increasingly complaining about surveillance cameras, unsolicited direct marketing e-mails, the publication of the personal details of debtors on the Internet and other issues to institutions responsible for protecting personal data. Most often the complaints relate to violations committed by the private sector. "Even though the protection of privacy has yet to provoke the same level of response in Lithuania as it does in Western Europe, our attitudes are fast approaching Western ones when it comes to these issues," said the Lithuanian minister of justice.
