Norway on Monday became the latest European nation to propose banning full-face veils such as burqas and niqabs. The proposal would apply to all educational facilities. Employees who refuse to obey the ban could lose their jobs, and students could face expulsion from school. "Garments that cover the face prevent communication that is key for pupils and students in their learning," Education Minister Torbjorn Roe Isaksen said. "Norway is an open society where everyone should be able to see each other's face."
