Journalist Daniele Piervincenzi and filmmaker Edoardo Anselmi, who work for state broadcaster RAI’s program Nemo Nessuno Escluso, were recently attacked by Roberto Spada, a suspected member of a criminal clan. The RAI crew was in Ostia to report on the local elections on Sunday, where CasaPound, an Italian far-right party, scored an unexpectedly high 9 per cent of the vote. Piervincenzi was asking Spada, whose family has faced numerous investigations for corruption, racketeering and drug smuggling, about his public endorsement of Casa Pound, when Spada suddenly attacked him, breaking his nose.
