The Dutch minister of social affairs and employment, Lodewijk Asscher (PvdA), is planning to invite Facebook and Twitter on an expert meeting to see how expressions of racism and discrimination can be fought more intensively. According to Asscher, there is no intent to restrict freedom of expression on the social media, saying instead, "Its limits are tied up in the law." Coalition partner VVD (liberal party) is not keen on the PvdA proposal. "Parliament often tries to fulfill its duty by setting up a plan of action, but such has to be initiated by society," said MP Tamara van Ark of the VVD.
