The House of Representatives is about to vote a draft law on the detention of persons. The draft foresees that detained people and their families must bear the costs of the detention decision when residing in a certain type of institution. This proposal is part of a logic of billing and not of public protection. When will all prisons be privatized? When will we have a deprivation of liberty with variable comfort, health care of variable quality, depending on the income of each? The defendant is not a client.
