Federica Mogherini, the EU's high representative for foreign affairs, did not make a planned visit to Prague. One of the reasons was the fact that some Czech politicians associate Islam and refugees with terrorism, without any distinction between them. Mogherini was to meet with the Czech president, who only the day before the planned meeting had appeared alongside representatives of the extremist group Block against Islam. Minister for Legislation and Human Rights Jiri Dienstbier stated in response that the president's appearance could help to legitimize fascism in the Czech Republic.
