The March of Independence, the largest event of its kind in Poland, took place in Warsaw on November 11. This year’s slogan was: "Poland for Poles, Poles for Poland." Unlike previous editions, there were no clashes between the protesters and the police this year. However, participants were throwing firecrackers, using light flares and smoke bombs. They also chanted, "On the trees instead of leaves will hang communists," and "Poland is not Islamic, not secular, but Roman Catholic," and held aloft Islamophobic and nationalist flags of the National Movement and the Radical Polish Camp.
