Seven people are on trial in Germany over a Christmas Day attack on a homeless man in the Schoenleinstrasse underground station. Six of the defendants face attempted murder charges for setting fire to newspapers the man had covered himself with. The other defendant is charged with failing to assist the man, who was only saved by passers-by after the attackers fled. The ages of the accused range from 16 to 21.
