On May 8, parts of the German government and several premiers of the federal states ("Länder") met for a refugee summit. The meeting was initiated after municipalities and federal states urged the government to take more responsibility in terms of funding housing and basic provisions for refugees in Germany. However, specific figures or concrete sums were not on the agenda. Chancellor Angela Merkel asked for the Dublin Regulation to be amended. German human rights group PRO ASYL commented that it is important to quickly follow words with actions.
