Following a competitive selection process, Liberties is pleased to announce the selection of three applicants from a pool of nine total applications to take part in this summer’s Campaign Accelerator.
This year’s applications included campaigns from many different member states, focusing on issues like the education and training of women from a forced migration background, awareness-raising over environmental protection and human rights issues, and an online campaign addressing climate change for young people aiming to reduce carbon emissions and encourage sustainable living practices.
So, who will participate in the first-ever Campaign Accelerator Summer School? Without further ado…
The ‘winners’ are…
Without tipping our (or their) hand too much, we are able to share the general campaigns and aims of the successful applicants (and, of course, stay tuned for more detailed information soon).
- The Hungarian Civil Liberties Union plans to run a campaign to strengthen environmental activism in Hungary.
- The campaign of the Stop Corruption Foundation, from Slovakia, aims to boost public participation among the youth.
- Finally, AlgorithmWatch from Germany aims to help platform workers – those who work, for example, for our beloved home-delivery food platforms – to fight back against unjust automated-decision making, including termination.
The Liberties promise
What their campaigns are lacking – and what the Campaign Accelerator will give them – is a comprehensive, values-based communications strategy to maximize the reach and impact of their campaigns.
Liberties is a leader in values-based communications and campaigning, having published multiple guides on how to properly communicate on such topics as creating support for the equality of marginalized groups, responding to smear campaigns, and pushing back on restrictions to the work of NGOs.
Liberties is uniquely positioned to provide dynamic communications training to enhance human rights campaigns in the EU, and the participants of our summer course will be able to take full advantage of our expertise.
Stay tuned
While we’re only able to give you a glimpse of the campaigns our participants are working on, we can assure you there’s much more to come. Stay tuned to Liberties for detailed information on the campaigns and the organizations running them in the coming weeks.
More on the Campaign Accelerator Summer School
During the three-day summer school, our Narrative & Framing experts will offer training on campaign planning and messaging, and give feedback and support to incorporate this new knowledge into the selected campaigns’ preparation. At the end of the 3 days, the participating organizations should have a tight campaign plan with clear and workable goals, a persuasive message and concepts for campaign communications materials.
Liberties will cover the cost of accommodation, travel and catering during the training sessions.
The project is co-sponsored by the European Union and the Oak Foundation.
