"Oggi, in violazione dei principi fondamentali di solidarietà, dignità e diritti umani, la corsa per respingere queste persone è in ripresa," ha dichiarato il Commissario ONU per i Diritti Umani nel suo rapporto annuale. Alcune preoccupanti tendenze caratterizzano l'approccio dei governi UE verso migranti e rifugiati, come la costruzione di recinzioni ai confini e, in alcuni stati, il sequestro di beni personali. "Sono preoccupato per la possibilità di espulsioni collettive e arbitrarie, che sono illegali," ha aggiunto, in vista dell'accordo UE-Turchia in programma la prossima settimana.
