Lo Human Rights Act (HRA) britannico non deve essere usato per processare la polizia, lo ha dichiarato l'Home Office lunedì in un caso epocale arrivato di fronte alla Corte Suprema. Due donne vittime del famigerato "stupratore del taxi nero" John Worboys hanno denunciato la Polizia Metropolitana per violazione dell'HRA e di "negligenza" nel condurre le indagini. L'Home Office teme che la sentenza spalanchi le porte a denunce simili da parte delle vittime di stupri ed è molto "preoccupato" per l'imposizione di un dovere di assistenza sulla polizia in relazione alla sua attività investigativa.
