L'Italia ha rimandato il suo ambasciatore in Egitto, nonostante non sia stato fatto alcun passo in avanti nell'indagine sulla morte di Giulio Regeni. "La verità è che le relazioni con l'Egitto sono troppo importanti per l'economia e il commercio italiani, oltre che per il contenimento dei flussi migratori", ha dichiarato Patrizio Gonnella, presidente di CILD. "Per questo per le autorità le violazioni di diritti umani e la verità per Giulio possono aspettare". CILD resta a fianco della famiglia di Giulio nel fare pressioni sulle autorità italiane e nel monitorare le evoluzioni delle indagini.
