Il 10 dicembre il Senato americano ha pubblicato il tanto atteso rapporto sul programma di catture e deportazioni della CIA. Insieme all'indagine parlamentare lituana del 2009, il rapporto suggerisce la possibilità che il "detention site Violet" si trovasse nel paese.
"Dalla relazione emerge che M. al-Hawsawi potrebbe essere stato detenuto in quel luogo e in seguito trasferito per ragioni di salute - non avrebbe ricevuto cure," ha dichiarato Mėta Adutavičiūtė, rappresentate di HRMI. Nel settembre 2013 HRMI e REDRESS avevano chiesto un'indagine preliminare sulla detenzione di al-Hawsawi.
