Il fenomeno delle porte girevoli, per cui i funzionari lasciano i loro posti per diventare lobbisti negli stessi ambiti su cui hanno lavorato, ha favorito i populisti in Olanda, Francia e Regno Unito. "E' una questione che non può essere ignorata perché è diventata un parafulmine per lo scontento popolare," secondo Carl Dolan, direttore di TI Europa.
