La Camera dei Deputati italiana ha approvato un disegno di legge che mira a ridurre il ricorso alla custodia cautelare e a rendere più stringenti i presupposti attraverso i quali un giudice può disporre la permanenza in carcere per chi è in attesa di giudizio. Il numero di detenuti in custodia cautelare in Italia è molto superiore alla media europea. Il Ddl dovrà ora essere approvato dal Senato per diventare legge.
