A seguito di un raid "anti-terrorismo" senza precedenti che ha avuto luogo qualche giorno fa, il 6 dicembre il comune di Roma ha chiuso il centro di transito per rifugiati Baobab. Il centro era gestito totalmente da volontari che hanno deciso di intervenire al posto delle autorità negligenti. Ha giocato un ruolo fondamentale nel fornire un appoggio sicuro alle persone in viaggio. Non è chiaro che ne sarà ora delle molte persone che avevano trovato accoglienza al Baobab. Una petizione chiede alle autorità di garantire strutture adeguate per accogliere i migranti in transito.
