1 marca dwóch imigrantów z Republiki Mali zmarło w wyniku pożaru w "Wielkim getcie", obozie dla uchodźców, między miejscowościami San Severo i Rignano Garganico, we włoskim regionie Apulia. Świadkowie twierdzą, że dwóm uchodźcom nie udało się opuścić obozu na czas. Ofiary zostały zidentyfikowane przez innych mieszkańców getta. Pozostałych imigrantów ewakuowano z obozu, chociaż większość z nich wolałaby wrócić, ponieważ w schroniskach przygotowano zaledwie 110 miejsc, co nie wystarczy, aby pomieścić wszystkich.
